The SLA regulates, for example, the response time in the event of faults, the services to be provided and the availability of IT systems. The Managed Service Provider assumes responsibility for the operation of the transferring IT systems. This means that responsibility for monitoring, administration and problem solving lies with the Managed Service Provider.

With the Software as a Service (SaaS) service, business applications are provided cloud-based via the Internet. There is no installation required, making mobile working possible everywhere and with any end device. The advantages of SaaS are many and varied: in addition to a shorter implementation period and lower costs compared to traditional fixed installation, SaaS is also characterized by more flexible scalability and easy use of the applications.
The main difference to managed services is that SaaS only guarantees cloud-based use of the applications. The Managed Services also offer advanced support, proactive maintenance and servicing, real-time monitoring and guaranteed response times.
