On 01.07.2019 HCL took over the Notes/Domino product family from IBM and formed a new collaboration division “HCL Digital Solutions”. In the meantime, the transfer of operations has also been implemented in Germany. The HCL Software division has been in existence since 1st September, under the leadership of Dr. Thomas Zeizel as “Associate Vice President & Head of HCL Software D-A-CH” for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We4IT is involved as HCL Software Business Partner. The IBM Collaboration Team is almost completely taken over by HCL, so that the good contacts and contact persons remain. The software department HCL Software includes the products Notes & Domino, Sametime, Connections, Verse, DX, Portal, Commerce, Appscan, Unica, and BigFix.

Who is HCL actually?

HCL is probably the most unknown multi-billion dollar IT company currently active in Germany. Founded over 40 years ago by Shiv Nadar in India, the start-up has grown into a rapidly growing global company with more than 8.6 billion dollars in annual sales. One and a half years ago, HCL employed 125,000 people; today, it already employs more than 140,000 in a total of 44 countries around the world. HCL has decided to develop new growth areas in addition to its existing services business. HCL is now able to offer a broad portfolio of software products with the “HCL Software” division and focuses on high customer satisfaction and high quality products. HCL’s new motto “Relationship beyond the contract” promises to be close to the customer and the product.

“We at HCL have understood this. We have not spent $1.8 billion to wind up the portfolio, but we are here to establish ourselves permanently in the market!”
